In my drawings, I haven’t dedicated much time to practicing natural elements — there’s no rain, but just being able to convey the feeling of a wet cape is already a victory.

Estou de volta com um treino inspirado em uma arte do Bjorn Hurri, mostrando um gigante e seu pequeno amigo. Essa vibe lembra muito o clássico dos games Shadow of the Colossus. Trabalhar com temas de gigantes seria incrível, pois abre espaço para explorar escala, perspectiva e narrativa visual.

👉 E falando em games, já viram o trailer de Gen Atlas? Ele traz robôs colossais em batalhas épicas, lembrando o filme Círculo de Fogo (Pacific Rim). É uma mistura de ação e impacto visual que dialoga diretamente com o universo dos quadrinhos independentes.

Sim, desenhos e games caminham lado a lado. O desafio é equilibrar o tempo livre entre desenhar e jogar — complicado rsrsrs, mas um inspira o outro. Jogar pode trazer ideias para o traço, e desenhar pode expandir o que você curte nos games.

🎮🖌️ Between Giants and Games: Creative Training Inspired by Bjorn Hurri

Hello, my friends! I’m back with a training sketch inspired by Bjorn Hurri’s art, featuring a giant and his small companion. This vibe strongly recalls the legendary game Shadow of the Colossus. Working with giant-themed concepts would be amazing, as it allows exploration of scale, perspective, and visual storytelling.

👉 Speaking of games, have you seen the trailer for Gen Atlas? It showcases colossal robots in epic battles, reminiscent of the movie Pacific Rim. It’s a mix of action and visual impact that connects perfectly with the independent comics universe.

Yes, drawing and gaming go hand in hand. The challenge is balancing free time between sketching and playing — tricky haha, but one inspires the other. Gaming can spark ideas for linework, while drawing expands the worlds you enjoy in games.

📌 Soon I plan to return to training for a few days and then dive into a new project. The goal is to make this year busier and full of releases.

Neste post seguimos com os treinos de cintura para cima, e o personagem da vez é Flávio, líder da equipe e um dos fundadores dos Senhores Mutantes Ltda. — projeto feito em parceria com o amigo Roberto Hollanda de Águas Claras.

Estou treinando poses e feições dos rostos, tentando variar e perceber onde ainda preciso melhorar. Só desenhando — inclusive aquilo que não queremos — é que conseguimos enxergar nossos erros. Falo em termos de pose, perspectiva e proporção. Esses treinos servirão como base para comparações futuras.

O Flávio, como líder, é um personagem peculiar. Preciso melhorar alguns detalhes, como o cabelo, e outras coisinhas que ainda exigem treino.

Hello, my friends! This post continues with waist-up training, and today’s character is Flávio, leader of the team and one of the founders of the Mutant Lords Ltda. — a project created in partnership with my friend Roberto Hollanda from Águas Claras.

👉 To learn more, check the Mutant Lords tags on the side. You’ll be able to compare how the drawings have evolved over time. Improved just a little, but still an improvement haha.

I’m practicing poses and facial expressions, trying to vary them and notice what still needs more work. Only by drawing — even the things we don’t want — can we truly see our mistakes. I’m focusing on pose, perspective, and proportion. These training sessions will serve as a reference for future comparisons.

Flávio, as the leader, is a peculiar character. I still need to improve some details, like his hair, and other small aspects that require more practice.

👉 Esse zine já vem desde o número 1, com 20 páginas em preto e branco. Ao longo dos números, dá pra notar uma certa evolução no traço. Ainda hoje vejo que preciso treinar mais, e esses posts servem como lembrete para comparar o antes e depois. Em breve teremos mais personagens dos Senhores Mutantes por aqui.

Seguindo nos treinos de cintura para cima e de perto, neste post temos ele, Atuma. Estou fazendo esses trabalhos não só para matar a saudade, mas também para ver no futuro, após os treinos, como eles vão evoluir.

👉 A ideia é treinar mais essa parte do tórax e proporção, sem referências, justamente para testar a memória visual e comparar depois com os resultados futuros. Esses exercícios ajudam a soltar o traço e manter a criatividade viva.

🦾📚 Atuma — Waist-Up Training

Hello, my friends! Continuing with waist-up and close-up training, this post features Atuma. I’m doing these sketches not only to revisit old characters but also to see how they will look in the future after more training.

👉 The focus here is on practicing the torso and proportions, without references, to test visual memory and later compare with future results. These exercises help loosen the linework and keep creativity flowing.

Soon we’ll be back to training with new ideas and projects. Another zine? I don’t know yet… but I keep experimenting and exploring possibilities.

Olá, meus amigos!

Estamos de volta com ela, a Thanasia. Gostei desse método de desenhar os personagens da cintura para cima, serve bem para treinos e ajuda a fixar algumas coisas na mente rsrsrsrs.

👉 A Thanasia é a protagonista do zine Exclegiuse #2. No início, esse zine era gratuito, feito para divulgar meu desenho. Acredita que consegui até anúncios pagos e uma tiragem de 100 exemplares enviados pelos correios? Recebiam em casa na maciota rsrsrsrs. Essa fase durou até o número 8, com fechamento de história. Depois, ela voltou no número 10 e segue até hoje.

Para não revelar demais, o que podemos dizer é que Thanasia veio de um reino protegido por uma muralha enorme, existente há centenas de anos. Sem nada que a prendesse ali, ela decide se aventurar além das paredes. A partir daí, temos suas aventuras, inclusive mudanças de visual. No último número do Exclegiuse #1 Nº6, tivemos o tão esperado encontro entre ela e Atuma — e essa aventura conjunta ainda terá continuação. São muitos projetos!

E parece que estarei um pouco mais livre: o projeto que estava a desenvolver está chegando ao fim. Em breve, novidades na praça! E você, está juntando moedas?

🛡️✨ Thanasia — Protagonist of Exclegiuse

Hello, my friends! We’re back with Thanasia. I really enjoyed this method of drawing characters from the waist up — it works well for training and helps fix some ideas in my mind haha.

👉 Thanasia is the protagonist of Exclegiuse #2. At first, this zine was free, created to promote my artwork. Believe it or not, I even managed to get paid ads and a print run of 100 copies sent by mail! People received them at home, nice and easy haha. This phase lasted until issue #8, with a story closure. Later, she returned in issue #10 and has been around ever since.

Without revealing too much, what we can say is that Thanasia comes from a kingdom protected by a massive wall, standing for hundreds of years. With nothing holding her back, she decides to venture beyond the walls. From there, her adventures unfold, including changes to her look. In the last issue, Exclegiuse #1 Nº6, we had the long-awaited meeting between her and Atuma — and this joint adventure will continue. Many projects ahead!

And it looks like I’ll be a bit freer soon: the project I’ve been working on is nearing completion. New releases coming soon! And you, are you saving your coins?

👉 Temos a Clarice do Chave Branca, matando a saudade de como seria hoje. Fiz alguns treinos e dá pra ver um pouco de evolução — pouca, mas tem, rsrsrsrs.

Pensando no futuro, quem sabe acelerar essa evolução? Estou cogitando procurar uma boa escola de quadrinhos. De preferência aqui no Rio de Janeiro e presencial, porque esse negócio de vídeo é meio frio: só falam, “tá lá, vejam de novo”… não tem a mesma energia de estar junto, trocando ideias.

Hello, my friends! This one just came out of the oven — not even 10 minutes ago haha.

👉 Here we have Clarice from Chave Branca, revisited to see how she would look today. With a few training sketches, you can notice some evolution — small, but it’s there, haha.

Thinking ahead, I wonder how to evolve faster. I’m considering looking for a good comic school. Preferably here in Rio de Janeiro and in-person, because online video classes feel too cold: they just say “it’s there, watch again”… it doesn’t have the same energy as being together, exchanging ideas.

Estão curtindo esses posts surpresa sem datas fixas? rsrsrsrs Sempre que consigo um tempo livre, lembro de vocês e faço um desenho pra tirar a poeira do blog — cof cof.

👉 Aqui temos novamente o Bionico, dessa vez em seu habitat: a favela da Caixa Torta. Ele carrega consigo o peso dessa comunidade nas costas, e isso abre espaço para refletir: o que podemos esperar de um herói nascido nesse cenário?

Antes que falem algo, sim, moro em uma favela nesse narcoestado do Rio de Janeiro. Já ouviram que as coisas aqui são diferentes? Pois bem, como seria um super-herói no Brasil real, contrastando com a pobreza e a violência? Seria bom ou ruim? Existem vários pontos de vista…

Hello, my friends! Are you enjoying these surprise posts without fixed dates? Haha. Whenever I get some free time, I remember you and make a drawing to dust off the blog.

👉 Here we have Bionico once again, this time in his habitat: the Favela of Caixa Torta. He carries the weight of this community on his back, and that makes us wonder: what could we expect from a hero born in such a setting?

And before you ask, yes, I live in a favela in this narco-state of Rio de Janeiro. Have you heard that things here are different? So, how would a superhero in the real Brazil look, contrasting poverty and violence? Would it be good or bad? There are many points of view…

In this artwork, Bionico stands on rooftops, where I took the chance to practice some perspective. Always training, always trying to evolve.

 Olá, meus amigos!

Aqui seguimos nos treinos para soltar a criatividade nos rascunhos de Bjorn Hurri. Dessa vez, aparece uma cena curiosa: alguém arrumou um ser de estimação meio estranho… não acham? Deve ser bem fácil de manter, rsrsrsrs.

👉 Esses treinos são rápidos, mas servem para manter a mão solta e estimular novas ideias. Mesmo com pouco tempo, sigo tentando praticar sempre que possível.

No momento, estou dedicado às páginas finais do meu mais novo projeto. Falta pouco: já mais da metade está pronta, e agora é hora de definir miolo, capas e contracapas. Em breve teremos novidades — e sim, serão mais de um zine. Então fiquem atentos e vão juntando as moedas!

Hello, my friends! We continue with training to unleash creativity through Bjorn Hurri’s sketches. This time, we see a curious scene: someone has a rather strange pet… don’t you think? Must be easy to take care of, haha.

👉 These quick training sessions help keep my hand loose and spark new ideas. Even with limited time, I try to practice whenever possible.

Right now, I’m focused on the final pages of my newest project. It’s almost done: more than half is ready, and now I need to define the interior, covers, and back covers. Soon there will be news — and yes, it will be more than one zine. So stay tuned and start saving your coins!

 Olá, meus amigos!

Neste post seguimos com um treino inspirado em Bjorn Hurri. O desenho mostra um gigante meio disfarçado, olhando para alguém no chão. Ele carrega uma pedra com pessoas esmagadas e traz jaulas presas à cintura, enquanto uma figura abaixo acena para ele.

👉 Esse exercício foi feito para soltar a criatividade, explorar pose, profundidade e traços rápidos, sem depender muito da borracha. O resultado é intenso e cheio de impacto visual, perfeito para imaginar novas histórias.

No momento, sigo dedicado ao lançamento de um novo zine, que já está mais da metade pronto. Falta definir miolo, capas e contracapas — e sim, será mais de um! Em breve teremos novidades, então continue acompanhando o blog e vá juntando as moedas.

Hello, my friends! This post continues with a training sketch inspired by Bjorn Hurri. The drawing shows a giant in disguise, staring at someone on the ground. He carries a stone with crushed people and has cages hanging from his waist, while a figure below waves at him.

👉 This exercise was meant to unleash creativity, exploring pose, depth, and quick strokes, without relying too much on the eraser. The result is intense and visually striking, perfect for imagining new stories.

Right now, I’m focused on the launch of a new zine, which is already more than halfway done. What’s left is to define the interior, covers, and back covers — and yes, it will be more than one! Soon there will be news, so keep following the blog and start saving your coins.
