This post features a color training session with a more recent drawing — I know you’ve been waiting for it... well, at least I have! haha

The result turned out pretty cool, even without a full cleanup. The artwork is a pencil sketch darkened in Photoshop, simple but effective. I’m currently updating my character sheets, training colors and poses — and as I always say: make your training useful!

The character Logrym came out great in this study. Just imagine one day having a fully colored magazine or zine featuring him and other characters from the Exclegiuse universe. It’s a dream slowly taking shape with each training session.

Foi um estudo rápido e simples, mas ainda assim cheio de charme. E sim, confesso: ainda não aprendi a fazer aquele tom perfeito de oceano no Photoshop para melhorar o fundo. Mas calma — são muitas coisas pra treinar ao mesmo tempo, né? rsrsrsrs 😅

A arte de Julie Bell sempre traz figuras femininas poderosas e cenários fantásticos — e essa sereia não foge à regra. Um ótimo exercício para explorar tons de pele, reflexos e atmosfera aquática.

🧜‍♀️ Color Training — My Little Big Mermaid by Julie Bell

Hello!

Here’s another color training session, this time featuring one of the older artworks by the amazing Julie Bell. And yes, I like to call it my little big mermaid... haha 🐚

It was a quick and simple study, but still full of charm. I’ll admit — I haven’t mastered the perfect ocean tone in Photoshop yet to enhance the background. But hey, there’s a lot to train at once, right? 😅

Julie Bell’s art always features powerful female figures and fantastical settings — and this mermaid is no exception. A great exercise for exploring skin tones, reflections, and aquatic atmosphere.
