Olá!

Esse post é especial. Temos aqui uma arte do lendário Katsuhiro Otomo, retirada de um artbook do clássico Akira — uma verdadeira joia da animação japonesa dos anos 80.

Nostalgia pura... Lembro que na época do lançamento eu não tinha idade suficiente para ir ao cinema. As revistas estavam nas bancas, mas o dinheiro não dava pra comprar. Posso dizer que não mudou muito hoje em dia... ainda tô sem! kkkkk

Vi os anúncios e fiquei de queixo caído — a arte era incrível. Mesmo sem entender o enredo (complexo demais pra minha idade), eu sabia que aquilo era bom. Anos depois, consegui uma fita VHS e comprei. E cara... que experiência! Uma obra fantástica feita sem programas digitais, só na flipagem tradicional, folha sobre folha. Uma das últimas animações raiz de qualidade.

This post is special. We’re featuring an artwork by the legendary Katsuhiro Otomo, taken from an artbook of the iconic Akira — a true gem of 1980s Japanese animation.

Pure nostalgia... I remember that when Akira was released, I wasn’t old enough to go to the cinema. The magazines were on the newsstands, but I couldn’t afford them. Honestly, not much has changed — still broke! haha

I saw the ads and was blown away — the art was stunning. Even though I couldn’t grasp the story (way too complex for my age), I knew it was something special. Years later, I got my hands on a VHS tape and bought it. And wow... what an experience! A fantastic work created without digital tools, just traditional flip animation, sheet over sheet. One of the last truly handcrafted animations of its kind.
